

He studied chemistry at Tübingen University and has experience in the field of organic and bioorganic chemistry. During his studies, he also spent a term at the University of Manchester (UK). The topics of his master’s thesis and doctoral dissertation were novel vancomycin antibiotics generated by combining chemical and biotechnological methods. From 2004 to 2006, Dr. Weist joined the group of Stephen L. Buchwald at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge (USA) as a German Research Council (DFG) postdoctoral fellow, where he worked on the methodology of transition metal catalyzed reactions. In 2006, he joined Kraus & Weisert. Dr. Weist specializes in the chemical and pharmaceutical area.
Dr. Weist loves to spend his spare time with music. He plays several keyboard instruments including the pipe organ and has a degree in church music.
