He is a chemist who studied and took his degree at Erlangen University, then acquired extensive professional experience in the plastics and pharmaceutical industries. In 1974, he founded Kraus & Weisert together with Dr. Annekaete Weisert.
In his spare time, Dr. Kraus likes cooking and is a passionate motorcyclist and mountain hiker. In order to pursue these latter hobbies more effectively, he has had a home in the mountains for many years.
