Dr. Weist studied chemistry at Tübingen University and has experience in the field of organic and bioorganic chemistry. From 2004 to 2006, Dr. Weist joined the group of Stephen L. Buchwald at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge (USA) as a German Research Council (DFG) postdoctoral fellow, where he worked on the methodology of transition metal catalyzed reactions. In 2006, he joined Kraus & Weisert. Dr. Weist is a German and European Patent Attorney and his work is mainly concerned with patent prosecution and litigation matters in the chemical and pharmaceutical area.

Dr. Weist loves to spend his spare time with music. He plays several keyboard instruments including the pipe organ and has a degree in church music.
